Introducing the Green Children

The debut release from Spinside Records—the newly launched imprint on Inside Recordings—will be iconic DJ Paul Oakenfold’s remix of the electronica-inspired song Dragons by Euro-pop duo The Green Children. The digital single is set for worldwide release on September 20, along with an accompanying video. The first album from The Green Children, Encounter, will be out on Spinside on October 12.

The Green Children are singer-songwriters Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan, who met while attending the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, an English university established by Sir Paul McCartney. Milla hails from the fjord-surrounded village of Alesund in western Norway, Marlow from Warwick, a medieval town in central England close to where Shakespeare lived. Both artists take inspiration from their charmed birthplaces, and the duo’s ethereal electro-pop is music infused with folklore and magic.

“Spinside was started to help emerging artists reach their fans in an ever-changing, and increasingly technology-driven global marketplace,” says Ethan Browne, who oversees the label. “I was really captivated by The Green Children as soon as I heard them, and I’m excited that Spinside will have a part in introducing their music to the world.”

The Green Children’s sound has been described as “cinematic fantasy pop,” and has already generated interest online with the atmospheric YouTube hit Life Was Beautiful. It’s one of the 12 original songs on Encounter, which also features the ballad Tell Me, the intoxicating Black Magic, and the original version of Dragons. Spinside Records is releasing The Green Children in association with Knightingale Entertainment.
